LONDON: European stock markets rose on Wednesday, with Frankfurt's main DAX index surging 1.26 percent to 9,626.49 points.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 gained 0.65 percent, ending on 6,873.58 points, while in Paris the CAC 40 rose 0.99 percent to 4,421.87 points.
