LONDON: European stock markets started the week mixed on Monday, disrupted by profit-taking and anxiety over Scotland's potential breakaway from the United Kingdom.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 slid by 0.30 percent to 6,834.77 points.
In Paris, the CAC 40 closed 0.26 percent lower at 4,474.93 points, while Frankfurt's DAX index gained 0.11 percent to 9,758.03 points.
