TOKYO: Tokyo stocks fell 1.66 percent on Thursday morning, tracking a fall on US and European markets, and as the stronger yen dented exporters.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 266.80 points at 15,815.45 by the break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares fell 2.00 percent, or 26.41 points, to 1,291.80.
