As of 0145 GMT, the main TAIEX index was down 0.03 percent at 8,709.21. It had plunged 2.8 percent in the prior session on massive selling by foreign investors.
Foreign investors sold a net T$8.1 billion ($270 million) on Monday, extending the total to T$27.2 billion so far in the month.
The banking and financial sub-index slipped 0.1 percent, while electronics shares were up 0.2 percent.
Quanta Computer, the world's biggest contract laptop PC maker, jumped 0.6 percent. It had posted an 11.8 percent year-on-year gain in September sales.
PC vendor Acer climbed 1.4 percent despite September sales falling 5.7 percent from a year ago.
The Taiwan dollar was up 0.19 percent at T$30.392 to the US dollar.
