Hashmi to unveil faces behind 'Multan tragedy' after by-polls

MULTAN: Senior political and independent candidate for NA-149 by-polls Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said on Tuesday that he would unveil real faces involved in 'Multan tragedy' after by-election scheduled to be held on October 16.

Addressing a press conference, he said he had a strong wish that political parties gain complete confidence of masses. He said he had no lust for power and pelf. He said he had always left previous political parties when it got into peak level. He thanked PML-N for obliging him to support in the coming election.

He claimed that Pakistan Peoples Party had pledged support in the election. However, it had turned out decision by fielding its own candidate.

Hashmi termed PTI congregation of Multan as 'electoral public meeting' arranged to muster support for its (independent) candidate. However, he said he had not sought support from PML-N but believing in power of his own campaign. He said he had the personal recognition among Multanites since he always raised their voice in the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Jamiat Ulema Islam (Nourani group) led by Mohammad Khan Laghari met with Javed Hashmi and announced his support in by-election. Two other independent candidates including Fiaz and Raja Mohammad Hussain Hashmi also have withdrawn in favour of Javed Hashmi.
