LONDON: Europe's main stock markets fell at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.80 percent to 6,348.61 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 0.74 percent to 8,873.54 points and in Paris the CAC 40 dropped 0.46 percent to 4,086.02 compared with Wednesday's closing value.
