Printers and makers of buntings, flags, banners and badges are fully engaged in their business. They are also making arrangements to dispatch these items to other areas of the country to meet demand of people.

The most enthusiastic are children who are busy collecting stickers, badges and also beautifying their bicycles with special stickers inscribed with messages of Independence Day.

Social, literary, religious and sports organisations will also arrange seminars, speeches, games and other activities on the day.

The city district government has also expedited activities for the repair of streetlights.

The Punjab Auqaf Department has already announced a four-day programme for Independence Day.
