According to a source, the IHC management has written a letter to the ministry for the creation of these posts for its smooth functioning.
Out of these pots, 143 posts have been demanded for IHC from grade 1-20 and 584 posts from grade 1-17 have been sought for the lower judiciary with the consultation of sessions judges. These posts exclude additional judges and civil judges, the source said.
It is worth mentioning that at present 240 employees are working in the high court, while 143 more posts have been demanded.
On the other side, the IHC has completed six months after becoming functional under the 18th Constitutional Amendment but the offices of four judges are still vacant. According to the 18th Amendment, the Islamabad High Court shall consist of Chief Justice and six other judges to be appointed with one each from all provinces and one each from Islamabad Capital territory and Federally Administered Tribal Area.
