As much as 3.056 million tons of meat is targeted to be produced during this fiscal year against the production of 2.939 million tons during last year, an official document revealed.
According to the document, the production of beef would grow from 1.625 million last year to 1.690 million this year, showing an increase of 4 percent.
Similarly the production of mutton would increase by 3.93 percent, by growing form 0.585 million tons in 2010-11 to 608 million tons in 2011-12.
Poultry production would grow from 0.729 million tons during last fiscal year to 0.758 million tons this year, showing an increase of 3.97 percent.
The overall milk production during the period under review is also targeted to reach at 45.883 million tons against the production of 44.118 million tons last year, showing an increase of 4 percent.
The production of eggs would grow by 3.97 percent during this year from 11.383 million eggs to 12.308 million eggs, according to Annual Plan 2011-12.
The fish production would increase from 0.937 million tons last year to 0.956 million tons, showing an increase of 2.02 percent.
Among the fish production, the inland fish production would grow from 0.264 million tons to 0.269 million tons whereas the Marine fish production would increase from 0.673 million tons to 0.687 million tons, showing an increase of 1.8 percent and 2.08 percent respectively, the data revealed.
The overall livestock production would grow by 4 percent while the fisheries would grow by 2 percent.
During the fiscal year 2010-11, production of livestock was recorded at 3.7 percent against the target of 4.2 percent whereas the growth of fisheries stood at 1.9 percent against the target of 2 percent.
