The studio has hired Alex Ross Perry to write the script. Perry is best known for the indie feature ‘Listen Up Philip’. That film went on to play at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and the 2014 New York Film Festival. He also recently directed the feature ‘Queen of Earth’ which debuted at the Berlin Film Festival this past February, foreign media reported.

Reportedly, the plot will tell the story of Christopher Robin, Winnie's human pal, who returns as an adult to revisit Pooh's hangout in the Hundred Acre Wood and reconnects with the iconic residents that include the titular bear, his best buddy Piglet, Eeyore the donkey, Tigger, and Kanga the kangaroo among others.‘Winnie the Pooh’ is a character based on A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh stories.

‘Winnie the Pooh’ is also a favourite subject in books from Disney Publishing Worldwide, the world's largest publisher of children's books and magazines with more than 700 million products sold each year.

Disney has already released a number of live action adaptations including ‘Maleficent’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Cinderella’. The company will release a sequel to ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘The Jungle Book’ next year.
