South Korean won extends fall to 1pc against the dollar

26 May, 2015

SEOUL: The South Korean won dropped by more than 1 percent on the dollar on Tuesday, and was also weighed down by the Japanese yen's fall against the greenback.

The dollar continued to benefit from Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen's comments last week around the timing of US rate increases.

The won was quoted at 1,100.8 against the dollar as of 0540 GMT, after touching a low of 1,101.4, and was on track for its worst daily performance since March 10.
