All set targets of Karachi operation to be achieved: Musadik

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr. Musadik Malik Tuesday said the Karachi operation would be continued till achievement of all the set targets in larger national interest.

Talking to a news channel, he said the situation of Karachi had changed with the operation and normalcy is returning to the port city.

He said people of Karachi were acknowledging the role and achievements of law enforcement agencies in the city.

Replying to a question, Musadik Malik said the rangers were deployed in Karachi by the federal government on the demand of provincial government.

He said no political party had opposed the operation. However, he said the objections and suggestions over the strategy was part of democracy which should be for better results from the operation rather to compromise over principles.

Musadik said criminals should be punished whether they were working under the shadow of any political party or religious organization.

Replying to another question regarding ban over coverage of MQM chief' speech, he said freedom of speech should be exercised with responsibility as per constitution.
