Projects of improvement in infrastructure and pace of progress on Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme were discussed during the meeting.
Talking to the Provincial Minister, the Chief Minister said the Punjab government was implementing a balanced policy for development of rural and urban areas and billions of rupees were being spent on betterment of infrastructure.
He said that special attention was being paid to improve infrastructure in backward areas of southern Punjab and more resources were being provided to the districts of southern Punjab.
Shehbaz Sharif said that best transport facilities would be ensured in rural areas under Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme. He said that repair and rehabilitation work of thousands of kilometre long rural roads would be completed till 2017 with a huge sum of Rs 150 billion.
The Provincial Minister informed the Chief Minister that infrastructure development project and Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme would be completed within stipulated period.
