HYDERABAD: Local Government Elections in 2 out of the 5 local councils in Hyderabad district have been postponed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) following an order by the Supreme Court.

The District Returning Officer received a notification from the ECP in this regard here on Wednesday evening.

According to the District Returning Officer, the elections in Municipal Committee Tando Jam, which consists of 9 wards, and Town Committee Husri, which consists of 6 wards, had been postponed.

A new date of the elections would be announced after redrawing boundaries of those constituencies.
