Polling process kicks off in Layyah

LAYYAH: Polling process of third phase of local government elections has been started across the district amid foolproof security. Around 5000 policemen besides Pakistan Army personnel are performing security duty in the district, informed, DPO Ghazi Salahuddin.

There are 638 polling stations across the district in which 25 were declared sensitive and tagged as falling in A plus category. Another 150 polling stations were declared sensitive while 463 polling stations were declared normal as category B.

16 DSPs, 48 inspectors, 262 sub inspectors and ASIs, 3160 Punjab police personnel, were performing duties. Similarly, 31 teams of elite force, 100 police personnel from Punjab constabulary, 685 patrolling police personnel, are also on duty.
