Ahsan Iqbal urges political parties not to politicise CPEC

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Prof Ahsan Iqbal on Monday emphasized that the professionals in private sector and academia will have to come forward and help the government in execution of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and harvest maximum benefits from it.

Speaking here at the 13th Annual Charter Awards Ceremony of CFA Association of Pakistan, he urged the political parties not to make CPEC controversial for making political score.

This corridor would equally benefit all the provinces, he assured. He said CPEC would prove a game changer not only for Pakistan but for the entire region. This would help build connectivity among South Asia, Central Asia and China.

Prof. Ahsan Iqbal said that after signing of dollars 46 billion projects with China under CPEC, Pakistan was being seen by the world as an emerging best place for investment.

Once Pakistan had been declared as the most dangerous place by the West. He said as a part of CPEC, many power projects were being executed in different areas of the country.

Prof Ahsan Iqbal advised the CFA Association Pakistan to also focus on the small cities and towns of the country, and expand their network and create more finance professionals.

President, CFA Association Pakistan, Arshad Bawa praised the services of Ahsan Iqbal in turning the dream of CPEC into a reality. He deliberated on the potential of charter holders and the efforts being made in this regard.

The Minister, on this occasion, distributed certificates among the CFA professionals.
