LONDON: Europe's main stock markets were steady at the open on Tuesday following further volatile trading in China sparked by concerns over weak growth in the world's second biggest economy.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index edged up 0.1 percent to 5,877.5 points compared with Monday's close.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 gained 0.1 percent to 9,832.8 points and the Paris CAC 40 won the same amount to stand at 4,317.5.
