MULTAN: Almost 80 percent of the land record computerization has been completed so far across the district.

While talking to APP here on Wednesday,Additional District Collector (ADC),Manzar Javed said that computerization of land record in two tehsils, Shujabad and Jalalpur, was completed while it was in progress in city and saddar tehsils.

He said the process would be completed within the next ten days. He said the land record computerization would be helpful in getting legal documents easily and forgery would also be discouraged.

To a question,he said that 52000 out of 57000 farmers of cotton and rice received compensation cheques under ongoing PM Kissan package across the district.

He said compensation cheques were also being given to those farmers who had lodged complaints with district redressal committee and the committee had approved their cases.

The ADC said the deadline for getting compensation cheques under PM Kissan package was December 31,2015,adding that some growers had not contacted them for getting their cheques.

He said the cheques will be disbursed till all get redressal.
