Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan passed these orders while allowing different petitions filed by Naseem Abass and other PIDA contract employees for their regularization. The court had reserved the verdict after hearing arguments of all parties on April 5 and it was announced on Tuesday.
Earlier, the petitioners' counsel requested the court to issue directions for regularization of the petitioners in light of chief minister's notification for regularization of contract employees.
They said that the case for regularization was pending since 2012. They said that the petitioners were being dismissed from the services to recruit new ones.
They said that the petitioners were selected after written tests and interviews but despite serving for 10 years, their services were not being regularized on the pretext that they were hired for specific project.
However, a provincial law officer opposed the request submitting that the petitioners were engaged for a specific project and limited time.
