NAIROBI: The Kenyan shilling was steady on Thursday due to subdued demand for the dollar by importers who expect the shilling to strengthen further, traders said.

At 0821 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 100.55/75, compared with 100.65/75 at Wednesday's close. The shilling has strengthened by 1.6 percent against the dollar so far this year.
