HBL workers demand protection of jobs

The Habib Bank Workers Front has demanded of the federal government to protect salaries, allowances and other privileges of the privatised Habib Bank Limited.
A meeting of the Front held under the presidentship of labour leader Habibuddin Junaidee on Wednesday reviewed the obtaining situation after the privatisation of the HBL and decided to demand from the government protection of jobs, salary and other allowances and the right to form union.
The leaders have also demanded increase in their salaries in accordance with the increase in the cost of living.
Through a resolution they criticised the existing collective bargaining agents (CBA) and termed it non-representative in character as it continued to keep mum over the entire process of privatisation of the HBL.
Among other who attended the meeting included President Workers front Fazal Karim Orakzai, Chairman Haji Yakoob, Senior Joint Secretary Syedda Nadra Parveen, Nasiruddin Mehmood, Mohammed Ashraf Baloch, Akber Khan Afridi.
