At least six armed Indian nationals were arrested Thursday in north-eastern Bangladesh for illegally entering the country, officials said.
The home ministry officials said the Bangladesh Rifles border guards arrested the six in the frontier village of Karishabasti in Habiganj district, 123 kilometres (77 miles) north-east of the Bangladesh capital Dhaka. Some weapons were seized.
The six were charged with illegally entering Bangladesh and carrying unauthorised weapons.
Those arrested were suspected to have entered from Indias Tripura state. No other details were immediately available.
