The Islamabad District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Asad Raza will resume hearing against acting Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) president and Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) chief Makhdoom Javed Hashmi in the mutiny case at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
The court had announced the change of the venue from Islamabad District and Sessions Judge Court to Adiala jail due to security reasons.
The venue has been changed on a complaint that during the previous hearing the PML-N workers and supporters created a law and order situation in the court premises.
They PML-N workers not only raised slogans but also damaged some cars parked in the premises of the court.
Meanwhile, Judge of Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench, Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam issued notices to the government seeking explanation on two separate applications challenging the change of venue of the trial on the directives of chief commission, Islamabad and on the bail application moved by the counsel of Javed Hashmi.
The learned court, refusing to suspend the orders of the chief commission, observed that the matter is of very important and sensitive nature, therefore, it necessitated to listen to the point of view of other party.
The petition was filed by MNA and daughter of detained PML-N leader Memona Hashmi.
