Haroon Rashid, Vice-President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), has called upon women entrepreneurs to come forward to play a vital role in uplifting the economy of the country.
Addressing members of Women Entrepreneurs Committee of FPCCI at the Federation House on Friday, he said that the members of Women Entrepreneurs Committee of FPCCI have proved the potential of leadership on national and international levels.
He said that participation of Women Entrepreneurs Committee under the banner of FPCCI in Indian international trade fair held in New Delhi got great projection not only in local press and media but also in the Indian media.
Congratulating the women participants he urged them to participate in more international trade fairs and exhibitions so that they could introduce themselves in the international market.
He welcomed their plan for participation in the Mumbai international trade fair and Pakistan's solo exhibition in New Delhi in March 2004 under the auspices of FPCCI.
He said that Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and FPCCI have joined hands for the encouragement of women entrepreneurs.
He appreciated that Wexnet has now become an annual event of women entrepreneurs which provides opportunity to display their manufacturing potential and to interact with the buyers of their products.
Haroon also hailed the decision of the government for the development of 'Women Entrepreneurs City' measuring 50 acres area which will provide significant opportunities to women entrepreneurs to set up industrial units and show their skills. The 'City' will have pre-constructed production area modules with basic infrastructure.
