Peace depends only on Kashmir solution

Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly, Sardar Sayyab Khalid Khan has said that rapid development and peace in South Asia depends only on resolution of occupied Kashmir issue.
Talking to NNI here on Sunday, he said that Pakistan always played vital role for peace and security in South Asia.
He said that President Pervez Musharraf has taken a bold step for not insisting on implementation of UN resolutions and offers open-minded dialogue for permanent and peaceful solution of occupied Kashmir issue.
Khalid said that now the ball was in India's court and Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee should hold talks with President Pervez Musharraf for resolution of all disputes including the core issue of occupied Kashmir.
He said that survival of 150 billion population of the region depends on solution of disputes between India and Pakistan.
He expressed fear that nuclear war may break out between India and Pakistan if the pending issues were not resolved.
The Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly said that both the neighbouring countries should realise the gravity of the situation and seize an opportunity of Saarc summit and hold dialogue that would pave the way for resolving the core issues.
He said that the confidence building measures taken by the India and Pakistan can only materialise if the Kashmir issue is resolved in accordance with the wishes of people of Kashmir.
