Punjab Housing and Communication Minister Chaudhry Zaheeruddin Khan has said the past regime obtained a lot of loans for construction of roads in the provincial capital, which are now being paid by the present government.
He stated this while addressing a delegation of PML-Q delegation on Sunday.
The minister said the present government is taking concrete steps for providing best possible communication facilities to people, adding: "Our development projects are well-planned, and will not be financial burden on the future governments."
About the newly-constructed Mall Road underpass, the minister said the government has completed it in a record period of three months, and saved Rs 80 million. "We will also complete the under construction FC College underpass within the stipulated time frame", he maintained.
He said the construction of Lahore Ring Road and Kasur double-way road is the future priority of the present government, adding the Lahore Road Ring will be made part of the next year's annual development plan.
"Similarly, we plan to complete Lahore-Kasur Road on built-operate-transfer (BOT) basis, and all legal work in this regard has been done", he said.
Furthermore, the minister said to overcome the growing traffic problems more under-passes will be built in the provincial capital.
