Saarc summit to help resolve Kashmir issue

AJK president Major General Sardar Mohammad Anwar Khan has expressed optimism that successful Saarc summit in Islamabad will pave the ways for resolution of disputes between India and Pakistan including the core issue of Kashmir.
Talking to different delegations from Bagh and Hajeera Sadhnoti here on Sunday, the AJK president said that after the passage of UN resolutions regarding right of self-determination to the people of the occupied Valley and changing global scenarios Kashmir has become international issue.
Resolution of Kashmir issue will not only ensure peace and stability in South Asia but it will be beneficial for the entire world community, he added.
He said that the Saarc summit is providing unique opportunity to both India and Pakistan to sit tighter and find permanent solution of all disputes including the core issue of Kashmir.
He also called upon other Saarc member states to play their role for resolving the disputes between India and Pakistan.
Sardar Mohammad Anwar Khan said that solution of Kashmir issue will also help strengthen the Saarc and its role will be more important in eliminating poverty and bringing peace and security in the region.
He also said that the solution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of people of Kashmir was in the interest of India.
He said that no one can ignore the sacrifices being rendered by the people of Kashmir for the cause of liberation of their homeland from Indian yoke and difficulties they are facing due to atrocities of the occupation forces.
He was of the view that confidence building measures taking by India and Pakistan will be useless unless New Delhi stopped brutalities in occupied Kashmir.
Sardar Mohammad Anwar Khan said that the Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf has played vital role at this critical juncture of history.
He said that Pakistan's support to the US led war against terrorism has improved its image in abroad. He also praised President Pervez Musharraf for taking bold stand on Kashmir.
He expressed optimism that after resolution of the issue of Legal Framework Order (LFO), the government and the parliamentarians of Pakistan will play more active role in highlighting Kashmir issue at international fora.
