Seminar on water scarcity on January 13

Dr M A Kazi Institute of Chemistry, University of Sindh, Jamshoro is organising two-day national seminar on "environmental, social and cultural impact of water scarcity in Sindh" on January 13 and 16 at Allama I.I. Kazi Campus, Jamshoro.
Chairman Technical Committee Water Resources Pakistan A N G Abbasi will be the chief guest at the inaugural session of the seminar where scholars and experts of the field will present their papers in the different sessions.
On its first day after the inaugural session, Mohammad Idress Rajput will present his paper on "Inter provincial water distribution Issues," Dr Asadullah Kazi on "Analysis of inflow at Rim Station of western rivers in Pakistan," Dr Abida Tahrani on "The economic value of water and problem of water scarcity in Pakistan," Sikandar Brohi on "Socio-economic impact of reduced Indus flow on Indus Delta and its local communities," M. Tahir Qureshi on "Ecological disaster in the Indus quality," Ghulam Rasool Keerio on "A tunnel vision of biodiversity of Indus river and overarching threats to riverine ecosystems of Sindh," Mumtaz Ahmed Suhag on "Division of Indus water" and S.I.H. Jaffery will present his paper on "Environmental degradation of Manchar Lake." On the second day of the seminar Rafique Tahir, Dr M. Saeed Wagan, M.H.S. Watoo and Dr Saeed Ahmed Soomro will present their papers.
The concluding session of the 2-day national seminar will be presided over by the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Mazhar-ul-Haq Siddiqui.
Eminent scholars and experts of the field including Dr Asadullah Kazi, Dr Saeed Ahmed Soomro, Dr M.I. Bhanghar, Mohammad Idress Rajput, S.I.H. Jaffery and Kazi Abdul Majeed will also preside over the different sessions of the seminar.
