Seminar on ethyl alcohol technology on January 15

14 Jan, 2004

A seminar on 'Ethyl Alcohol Technology: Future Perspectives' will be held at a local hotel here on January 15.
The seminar has been organised by Meshe International in association with Praj Industries Limited, India.
The seminar will focus on fermentation technologies, distillation technologies, molecular sieve dehydration technology for anhydrous alcohol, and wastewater treatment options.
With over 250 references in over 25 countries across five continents, Praj is considered to be world leader in molasses based distilleries.
Praj has recently commissioned the world's first " smart distillery" in India having flexibility of switching between feed stocks and product mix.
The considerably reduced wastewater volume is effectively utilised for producing compost.
High purity CO2 from the ferrnentors is another value-added stream.
Pakistan's sugar mills share similar operating conditions to that of the sub-continent.
Being progressive, Pakistan's sugar industry has a strong potential of producing value-added products like alcohol.
While some sugar mills have already installed alcohol projects, new ones are on the anvil.
Praj with its vast experience of having worked on distillery projects across the sub-continent, would like to share the learning, it has gained.
