Japanese toy-maker to sell sweet dream machine

Major Japanese toy-maker Takara said Wednesday it is to sell a machine that helps people to have sweat dreams by providing a relaxing fragrance, slow music and key words while they sleep at night.
Takara is to start selling 'Yumemi-Kobo' or 'Dream Factory' in Japan in May for 14,800 yen (139 dollars).
The machine, jointly developed with a Japanese psychologist, releases a "certain" fragrance which the company believes will help people relax and sleep well, the Tokyo-based company said in a statement.
Yumemi-Kobo, which measures 35 centimetres (14 inches) by 22 centimeters, is equipped with a voice-recorder which users use to record several key words related to what they want to dream about.
It can then be set to replay the words repeatedly at low volume during sleep. Its dim light turns on and morning music is played to wake up users slowly so that they can remember dreams they had overnight, the company said.
Takara hopes to sell 300,000 units in the first year on the market.
