The average price of Bangladesh teas fell on poor quality at the weekly auction on Tuesday, brokers said.
"Some 1.31 million kg were sold at an average price of 61.99 taka per kg, down 2.30 taka from the last sale. The withdrawal percentage was 32.64," a market report by National Brokers Limited (NBL) said.
Buyers for Pakistan and Bangladesh exporters along with loose tea traders participated in the auction.
Some 200 kg well made Broken Orange Pekoe realised the highest price of 118 taka per kg while other grades were sold between 40 taka and 111 taka per kg.
The next auction will be held on January 27 with an expected offering of 1.82 million kg.
