Libya buys some feed barley

21 Jan, 2004

Libya's state grains agency has made several small barley purchases of an unknown volume in recent days but remains in the market for more, traders said on Tuesday.
In January traders said Libya was seeking to purchase between 50,000 to 100,000 tonnes of optional origin feed barley. "They have bought small volumes here and there in the last few days," one trader said.
"This involves consignments of 3,000 tonnes to 5,000 tonnes but they are still in the market."
"They do not care where it comes from as long as it is cheap."
Purchases are believed to be Black Sea origin. Prices were unknown.
