China to take beneficial steps towards Pakistan

China will continue to take mutually beneficial steps to strengthen its relations with Pakistan and other countries of South Asia, said a spokesman of Chinese Foreign Office Kong Quan at weekly news briefing.
To a questions about the possibility of visit to Pakistan by President Hu Jintao or Premier Wen Jiabao this year, the spokesman said that high-level exchanges had always been part of the bilateral relations.
However, he said such visit has yet not been decided.
He said China attaches great importance to relations with Pakistan and believes they will continue to grow with the passage of time.
The two sides have been holding regular consultation at various levels to strengthen their bilateral ties, as well as to take common stand on various regional and international issues.
