Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Jammu Kashmir (PPP-AJK )leader Ishaq Zafar on Monday showed no confidence in the leadership of Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry accusing him of playing with the sentiments of the Kashmiris and taking individual decisions.
"He (Sultan) is taking his own decisions on Kashmir. We cannot accept this, we only accept Benazir Bhutto as our leader", Zafar said at a news conference here.
PPP-AJK chief Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry in the meanwhile was addressing a protest rally in front of the Indian High Commission showing complete disassociation with the Ishaq Zafar group. Zafar who was flanked by several legislatures of the AJK assembly, said, "the Kashmiris are fed up with Sultan. He has no support".
"The style of announcing own decisions on Kashmir is also detrimental to the interest of a nation where decisions are taken through due process and which are based on consensus", Zafar said to a question.
Zafar said that a Central Executive Committee of the PPP-AJK was illegally established by Sultan.
"There is only one Central Executive Committee at the centre. The name of the AJK CEC was changed on our indication as Executive Body", he recalled.
About Pak-India talks, he said, "the PPP believes that progress in talks with India must be based without prejudice to our position on Kashmir and through a step by step approach.
The PPP believes that such an approach will make people in all parts of South Asia appreciate the importance of good relations thus breaking the past cycle détente followed by conflict".
