An amount of Rs 10 million of Sindh Bar Council and Rs 8.5 million of Karachi Bar Association (KBA) was misappropriated by the accused in the Kutchery Post Office fraud case.
This was disclosed here on Wednesday by Mehmood-ul-Hasan, President of Karachi Bar Association (KBA) while addressing on the occasion of oath taking ceremony of newly elected managing committee of KBA.
He requested to Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad to seek intervention of federal government to force Postal authorities for payment of deposited funds to depositors.
The amounts were deposited through cheques and were never withdrawn therefore, postal authorities can not run away from payment of amounts misappropriated by a retired employee who was allowed to work at a prime post, he said.
