Captain Naqi elected Palpa president

Captain S. Naqi-ur-Rehman was elected as President of Pakistan Airline Pilots' Association (Palpa) in the elections held recently in which new principal office bearers and executive committee for the term 2004-2006 were also elected.
Captain Naqi was elected unopposed along with Captain Haroon Abdullah, as General Secretary and Captain Mohsin Malik as Vice President.
Other principal office bearers elected were Captain M. Sohail Baloch (Joint Secretary-I), Captain Saleem Akhtar (Joint Secretary-II), Captain Saleem Ahmed (Joint Secretary-III), and Captain Saeed Khan as Treasurer.
The executive committee elected comprised of Captain Aijaz Durrani, Captain S. M. Qasim, First Officer Arif Majeed, First Officer Sohail Ahmed, First Officer Adnan Siddiqui, First Officer Usman Jamil, First Officer R. A. Hussain, Capt. J. S. M. Sadiq and Captain Shahid Ali.
In his first address to Palpa members after his election as President, Captain S. Naqi-ur-Rehman assured them of his commitment for the betterment of pilots' community and laid down the vision of the newly elected committee.
"Palpa is committed to safeguard the rights and interests of the pilot community," he said adding "we will work closely with PIA to foster a better understanding and commit ourselves in making the airline one of the most safer and profitable organisation in the world."
He thanked the outgoing President Captain N. A. Bucha and his executive committee for their untiring efforts to achieve the desired goals.
