Government striving to create welfare state: Jamali

Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said the government was striving to set up a welfare state.
He was talking to MNAs - Qari Gul Rehman and Maulana Dr Atta-ur-Rahman - who called on him separately at the Prime Minister's House on Friday.
The Prime Minister said the adoption of 17th amendment bill by the Parliament would bring a new era in their politics and further strengthen democratic process in the country.
The year long stand-off between the government and opposition had ended.
The Prime Minister asked the MNAs to play their due role in carrying out the development schemes in their constituencies and to work for the welfare of the people.
Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman requested the Prime Minister for funds to provide gas at Babuzai, Shamuzai, Mian Khan, Char Banda and Jamali Gari of his constituency in Mardan District.
