Former PBC chief passes away

S. M. Abdullah, a former chairman of Pakistan Banking Council, passed away here on Sunday. He was 81.
Abdullah had an illustrious banking career. He also served as president of Habib Bank Limited.
He was originally trained in London and was the first non-British covenanted officer of the old National Bank of India, later known as Grindlays Bank.
He is survived by his wife, a son, and two daughters.
