Two dacoit gangs busted: 9 held

The CIA Cantonment Division claimed to have arrested nine dacoits of two inter-districts dacoit gangs, and recovered stolen items besides, illegal weapons from their possession.
Lahore Senior Superintendent Police (Investigation) Chaudhry Shafqat Ahmad stated this at a press conference here on Sunday.
He said the accused had looted gold ornaments worth Rs 2.7 million from a jeweller, Mohammad Siddique, at Raiwind Kot Radha Kishan and Rs 4.5 million from a trader, Abdul Sattar, when he was going after drawing the cash from a bank here, adding the accused had also snatched a Toyota Corolla Car No. LRD-6676 from an inspector at Muslim Town Mor.
The SSP said that special teams were constituted under the supervision of Masood Aziz DSP, organised CIA Cantonment Division which traced the gangs.
The arrested members of the gangs were identified as Basharati alias Bashri, Ghulam Nabi, Mohammad Aslam, Mohammad Arif, Mohammad Iqbal, Mohammd Ramazan, Basharat, Shahadat Ali and Mohammad Gulzar.
The recovery included cash of Rs 1.5 million, a gold set, two mobiles, four motorcycles, two tractors, a truck besides, two rifles, four pistols, a gun, four magazines, and 264 rounds, he added.
