Musharraf criticised for 'promoting' US interests

The banned religio-political party, Hazb-ul-Tahrir (HT), has said that for American interests Musharraf is following a policy of 'come and hit us, we were the culprits'. Musharraf himself is creating justifications for America to eliminate Pakistan's nuclear capabilities.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, the spokesman of HT said that previously it was the same Musharraf who claimed that Osama could be in the Pak-Afghan border area. This strengthened American allegations which Musharraf in turn used as the basis to begin operations in the tribal area.
Musharraf, he said, offered to abandon the United Nation's resolutions, so that, in future, grounds could be prepared to divide Kashmir according to American interests.
"Similarly, today it is Musharraf again who is claiming that in the past there was 'no strategic check and control', on Pakistan's nuclear programme, hence the transfer of sensitive equipment and technology was possible," he said.
However, he said, it was a well-known fact that the nuclear programme was exceptionally safe due to its secrecy and supervision by the military. He said Musharraf's policy could be summed up as 'come and hit us, we are the culprits'.
He said that no month passes by without two or three delegations of senior American officials meeting Musharraf to pass dictations on future Pakistan's policies.
"It is Musharraf's duty to either terrorise people of America or frighten them with India's 'Bunya Force', whereas in reality neither of these countries can ever think of attacking a nuclear Pakistan," he said.
"By using terror as a tool, not only we have been deprived of the strategic depth of Afghanistan but the Jihad in Kashmir has also been sabotaged, as a result of which Pakistani leverage on Kashmir has been totally eliminated," he added.
He charged that Musharraf was once again making a phantom out of the IAEA and America in order to scare nuclear scientists and freeze the atomic programme.
The Ummah should struggle for the re-establishment of Khilafah and release itself from these traitorous rulers which will protect nuclear and other strategic assets of the Ummah, he said.
