Lines Area problems will be resolved: minister

Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Rauf Siddiqui has said that the elected representatives of the present government are making efforts to resolve the problems of masses at their doorsteps on priority basis.
He stated this while speaking to an open kutchery held in Lines Area on Sunday.
The area people informed him of their problems, on which he issued on-the-spot directives.
On complaints of faulty bills, issued by the KESC, he directed the officers present on the occasion to redress the grievances. Expressing anger over presence of heaps of garbage he directed the officers of the concerned department to maintain proper cleanliness in the area.
When informed about illegal hydrants and sale of water, the minister ordered action against the elements involved.
He said the residents of the area must not face any difficulty with regard to water supply and that strict action would be taken against officials if any complaint in this regard was received during Eid days.
He was told that sewerage water was mixing with the drinking water in the locality, on which he directed the officers of the concerned department to resolve this problem immediately saying that those endangering the lives of people would not be pardoned.
Siddiqui directed the officers of the cantonment to carry out road construction work at the earliest. It was complained that the road near the Military Workshop was in a dilapidated condition.
The residents praised the on-going work for laying new sewerage system replacing the old one.
Federal minister for housing and construction Safwanullah was also present on the occasion.
