The 56th Anniversary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka is a day of rejoicing throughout that Country which has crossed numerous hurdles to reach this stage where she can stand in the comity of nations with her head held high as a leader which can be taken as a beacon for other developing countries showing the path to traverse the road to glory.
From an exporter of tea and spices to have developed into an industrial Country capable of exporting its products to all parts of the world is no mean achievement and shows the will of the people to withstand all the trial and tribulations that one encounters on the road to success.
I wish this great country a safe and happy passage in the millenniums to follow and wish greater and greater glory to the people of the land.
