The Iranian ambassador in Pakistan, Mohammed Ibrahim Tahiriyan, and Irani Consul General at Karachi Seyed Musa Hosseini have praised the humanitarian services being rendered by noted social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi.
"You are serving the cause of Islam in real sense and is ambassador of Islam the world over," the two diplomats said in a meeting with Edhi at his Kharadar Head Office.
Edhi's wife Bilquees and daughters Kubra, Almas and Zeenat were also present on the occasion.
Ambassador Mohammed Ibrahim told Edhi that he was aware about his name and services for quite sometime and wanted to meet him much earlier but could not meet because of certain reasons.
He said that it is not possible for him to express in words his gratitude for his sympathies with the victims of Dam earthquake and being the first to come to their help.
"I understand that Allah has given you the opportunity, the way, you are serving the humanity world over. You are serving Islam in real sense and is ambassador of Islam throughout the world."
Abdul Sattar Edhi thanked the ambassador for his visit to his head office and said he always prayed to Allah Almighty to give him opportunity of serving the cause of suffering humanity.
Referring to his donation of 0.4 million dollars for rehabilitation of Dam earthquake victims, Edhi said that he has with him another amount of 0.2 million dollars received from Edhi International Foundation, which would be spent on the construction of a ward in the hospital to be constructed in Dam or on the purchase of ambulances.
Edhi told the Iranian ambassador that throughout the world, he gets donation only from Pakistanis.
Ambassador Ibrahim said that he would be happy to welcome him and his family again to Iran.
