Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmad Ghani has called upon the mautabareen, elders and people in the province to play their role for the resolution of tribal disputes in the province according to historic traditions as these are not only hurdles in the economic development but also creating impediments in the uplift of society.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of historic Sibi mela here on Sunday. Governor said it has been the tradition of the mela that tribal chiefs, mautabareen and elders gather here and exchange their views on the existing problems.
Therefore, he added it is the best opportunity to work for the resolution of tribal disputes and also assured government support in this regard.
Owais Ghani said Sibi mela has its own cultural and historic significance, which is of great interest to the people of Balochistan.
He said industrial and agricultural exhibition set up as part of Sibi mela helps people to introduce their produce and products, thus helping in promotion of trade and agriculture in the province.
Referring to the problems of the area, Governor said owing to drought situation, zamindars and cattle breeders suffered heavy losses. He said drought is not yet over but is continuing.
