Efforts on to improve law and order: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said the government is focusing on improving law and order in the country and efforts are being made to ensure safety of life and property of citizens.
He expressed these views while talking to Chairman National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB), Daniyal Aziz, who called on him here at the Prime Minister's Secretariat on Monday.
The Prime Minister reiterated firm resolve to implement Police Ordinance in letter and spirit, so that police are made subservient to the people. This will restore the confidence of common man in police department, he added.
The Prime Minister appreciated the progress made in the implementation of Police Ordinance in the provinces and said that provincial governments would be extended financial support.
In this connection, Jamali lauded the efforts provincial governments are making to generate their own resources for sustained implementation of this ordinance.
Chairman NRB briefed the Prime Minister about the progress of Police Reforms under which police department is being revamped on modern lines to make it more efficient and objective.
The Prime Minister will chair a high level meeting on Tuesday on Police Ordinance and local government issues, participated by the provincial representatives.
