Screening cameras will be installed in all the 26 jails of Punjab latest by June 30 next, said police sources.
It was learnt that special funds for the cameras have also been sanctioned, while directives have been issued to computerise the entire jail record.
Police have also been directed to maintain record of all the prisoners by taking their photographs before sending them to the jails.
