Dr Bashir named new vice chancellor of UAF

The Governor of Punjab, Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) and Chancellor of University of Agriculture of Faisalabad (UAF) has appointed Professor Dr Bashir Ahmad new Vice Chancellor of University of Agriculture with effect from February 16, 2004.
Presently, he was working as Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology.
Dr Bashir Ahmad a professor of meritorious in BS-21 is PhD from the University of Canada. He has Presidential Award of Izaz-e-Fazeelat in his credit for his excellent performance in the field of agrarian economy.
He is a dynamic researcher, devoted and dedicated teacher, and an administrator with all integrity and sobriety. A distinguished contribution towards academic excellence is his initiation of PhD Programme in the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology.
Presently six PhD students are pursuing their goals in the final stages under his direct supervision and guidance.
He has supervised thesis research work of 45 MSc (Hons) students as their major supervisor and another 151 students as member of students supervisory committee. He has to his credit 164 technical publications and 58 research papers in journals of national and international fame.
The track record of his teaching, research and administrative is highly commendable extended over a period of 33 years and he enjoys a good academic repute in the comity of agriculture scientists in the country.
