Like other parts of the country, to condemn the policies of President General Pervaiz Musharraf, Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD), held a protest camp at the traditional Chowk Yadgar on Friday.
The angry participants of the camp were addressed among others by, Central Secretary General ARD, Iqbal Zafar Jaghra; Provincial President Pakistan People's Party, Khwaja Muhammad Khan Hoti and Zahir Shah.
Addressing on the occasion, Iqbal Zafar Jaghra accused President Musharraf for extending his military regime at the sake of the country's solidarity and defence. He said that in the first phase he took U-turn on Afghanistan and now he wanted to go for bargain on the issue of Kashmir.
He strongly condemned the treatment with the nuclear scientists and paid rich tributes to the contribution of those scientists who stood Pakistan in the ranks of the nuclear countries. Jaghra said that the main purpose of the debriefing is to roll back the nuclear program of Pakistan.
He said that the so-called President is also not sincere with the existence of the constitutional institutions of the country that is why he has appointed NAB wanted people on the most important portfolios.
Strongly criticising the economic downfall of the country and price hike he said that the poor people have been deprived of the basic human rights and the people in power are misusing their powers and living in luxuries.
