THE RUPEE: 3 paisa fall in interbank market

14 Feb, 2004

The rupee on Friday shed three paisa versus the dollar in the interbank market for buying and selling at Rs 57.31 and Rs 57.34, respectively.
Slight increase in demand pushed the rupee down in the interbank market, dealers said. In the meantime, they were hoping that the rupee would show firmness versus the greenback.
The dollar fluctuated slightly versus the leading currencies in the world markets in the absence of leading factors.
It, however, recovered five paisa in relation to the euro for buying and selling at Rs 73.22 and Rs 73.52, respectively.
