Punjab Minister for literacy and non-formal education, Hussain Jahanian Gardezi has said that industrial sector in the country needed synergy in resources and innovation & creativity for creating quality and productive culture in order to face World Trade Organisation (WTO) challenges.
Addressing a two-day training programme on "Quality & Productivity Improvement through Kaizen management" jointly organised by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), National Productivity Organisation (NPO) and Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC), he said that the industrialists needed to equip themselves with 'Kaizen techniques' adopted by Japanese entrepreneurs.
The LCCI Vice-President (VP) Shahzad Ali Malik, speaking on this occasion said, "The exposure to a highly competitive international market prompts the industry to reorient its production process and management principles governing manufacturing operations."
The developed economies particularly of Japan, he added were relevant models. The Kaizen management tools practised with success in the Japanese industrial enterprises could easily be replicated by bringing changes in style and content, which suits Pakistan's needs and problems.
